About Us

Confektz Ltd produces artisan sugar confectionery for top-end retailers and specialist stores. The company incorporated in July 2007 after several months regular market trials testing products with consumers at certified farmers' markets across Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridgeshire and Essex. Confektz was then selected by Fortnum & Mason, London, as a supplier of gourmet marshmallow and continues to supply them with product on a weekly basis.

Initial market trials tested product-texture acceptability, flavour preferences, price sensitivity, seasonal variation, product loyalty, and other demographic metrics such as gender, age, and location. Indeed, market testing of new products continues to be a mainstay of Confektz' product strategy. Confektz consumer tests products at the Sunday market in Cambridge as required, soliciting direct customer feedback on taste, texture, and overall product acceptability; this is more satisfactory than tasting panels and produces direct sales as well.

Confektz was the first producer of gourmet marshmallows in the UK and continues to have the largest and most exciting flavour range. Tasting the product delivers a high conversion rate amongst potential customers, including a percentage of those who profess to dislike marshmallow but will buy after tasting the products.

Confektz currently produces these award-winning goods near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, at the centre of a sugar-beet growing area. The eggs used in these products are produced by organically-reared free-range flocks on an organic farm near Peterborough, Cambridgeshire; and the fresh fruits are sourced from across Suffolk, Norfolk, Essex, and Cambridgeshire.

The value for the consumer in using local ingredients where possible in these goods is in the quality, freshness, and the provenance of the confectionery produced.
